The Appalachia AHEAD: Accelerated Manufactured Housing initiative is part of our ongoing effort to address the critical housing needs of Athens County, Ohio, by focusing on increasing the affordable housing supply, enhancing infrastructure, promoting long-term affordability, mitigating environmental threats, and supporting resident stability and self-sufficiency. We aim to construct new manufactured housing units, replace outdated mobile homes, and develop community areas with essential infrastructure. We will establish a housing preservation fund and convert informal manufactured housing community (MHC) subdivisions into resident-controlled communities.
